Hey Everyone,
We're going back out to the street corners once again this Saturday, June 11th between 2:30pm and 4pm to shed light on the intentionally vague mantra: "Freedom of Choice". We meet in the north-west corner of the Northgate Mall parking lot by the Stanford's restaurant.
When we let society dream about how nice it is to have "reproductive choices", injustice rules and babies die.
When we have the courage to stand up and SHOW our neighbors the bloody carnage they are actually choosing and supporting, babies live. It's that simple.
We have to reach as many people as possible, while the greater society still has enough of a functioning conscience to realize the horror of abortion and be therefore sufficiently moved to reject it.
Terry, one of our committed regulars will not be able to attend because of a scheduling conflict and so we need some extra help.
Please give the unborn an hour and a half of your time this month. You will not regret it. And bring your pro life friends.

Father Scott Daniels has been an advocate for all human life issues since seminary days. He says, “I have become ever more deeply aware of the need for more people of good faith to come forward and dedicate their lives to saving the unborn,” and “I truly believe that priests are especially invaluable to this ministry.” Father Daniels’s experience, including years of working with high school students, will help him reach younger generations and reverse the effects of moral relativism they've received from our culture. He states, “In my discernment, there is no more important issue facing the Church and humanity today than the life issues and promoting the dignity of every human person from conception to natural death.”

Snohomish County Pregnancy Resource Clinic to Hold Fundraising Banquet October 8
It's not too late to get in for the annual fundraising banquet of the Pregnancy Resource Clinic of Snohomish County (PRC).
“The Power of One” will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Edward D. Hansen Conference center located in the Everett Events Center from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. Attendees are guaranteed "a wonderful night full of fellowship, laughter, and encouragement"!
The emcee will be Christian commedian Mike Williams.

In 1972, Tim’s mother was given horrible news. The child she was carrying was going to die. If it was born the multitude of birth defects would overwhelm the family. The doctors also declared that her life was also at stake. She had previously given birth to 7 children and the last 4 had died! The Chief of Staff at a medical hospital in Boston recommended the abortion. He said it was the right thing to do. She was told it was her only option! To complicate matters, she couldn’t talk about the situation with anyone, for she was a Pastor’s wife and the President of Boston Women’s Aglow. Well the voice of Tim’s older brother brought Mom to the decision that she must give this child the same chance she gave the others, despite the huge risk. God provided a miracle and Tim made medical history. Why: Because ABORTION is GENOCIDE and because society has decided that they do not want you to see these pictures.
How: 25 different 4ft x 8ft billboards that SHOW the UNIMAGINABLE HORROR of ABORTION
"Clump of cells"..."Blob of tissue"..."Conceptus"..."Parasite"..."Alien germ"..."Punishment"...????
It's a baby.
It is so easy to trivialize when you call it everything but what it truly is.
It's a person.
And we intend to make sure you have no refuge behind ignorance.
We intend to restore that which has systematically stripped from the innocent and helpless unborn: their HUMANITY.
There will be NO Speeches and No Presentations because the pictures tell ALL.
Representatives for the group will however be on hand to speak with anyone interested, answer questions, etc.

Prayer Vigil and Procession to Everett Planned Parenthood
A Pro-life Prayer vigil marking the thirty-sixth anniversary of the Roe versus Wade Supreme Court decision was held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2501 Hoyt Avenue, Everett, WA.
The program began with Morning Prayer followed by Mass and a prayerful walk to the local Planned Parenthood Clinic. Mass intentions and music selections focused on the unborn and their mothers. Officiating at Holy Mass was Auxiliary Bishop Eusebio Elizondo, Archdiocese of Seattle, and Fr. Brian Hersey, pastor of Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic parishes.
Patty Bellows, vigil organizer, said, “Our purpose is to ask Almighty God to change the hearts of those seeking an abortion and the conversion of the hearts of those who provide abortions.” At the conclusion of Mass, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction, a procession and recitation of the Most Holy Rosary was prayed.
During the Homily, Fr. Hersey told a story relating to Mother Teresa. A reporter once inquired of her, “How can you continue to bring children into this world?” Mother Teresa simply answered, “Bring them to me.”
Lunch was served by the Knights of Columbus Councils Everett #763 and Marysville #7863 and the Youth Ministry ClubSix56. Additionally, members of John F. Kennedy Assembly #1530 participated in regalia. Nearly 225 people attended this peaceful, powerful and prayerful vigil.

Why Abortion is Legal in Washington
The myth goes something like this -- The enlightened people of Washington state, freed from the shackles of religion (especially all things Catholic), and in their infinite wisdom and goodness came together through the democratic process to support and embrace unlimited abortion for the good of all women. It was democracy's finest hour.
I think it should be fairly obvious to any unbiased observer that the "will of the people" has very little to do with the unbridled access to and promotion of abortion in this state. It should also be fairly obvious that most people do not want to support the killing of unborn children.
1) The abortion lobby has been able to buy the laws and politicians (the stupid or cowardly or power-hungry of both parties) unwilling to make any changes in our abortion laws.
2) Most people in the state are indifferent to, ignorant about or fearful to confront the problem of abortion.

I think it should be fairly obvious to any unbiased observer that the "will of the people" has very little to do with the unbridled access to and promotion of abortion in this state. It should also be fairly obvious that most people do not want to support the killing of unborn children.
1) The abortion lobby has been able to buy the laws and politicians (the stupid or cowardly or power-hungry of both parties) unwilling to make any changes in our abortion laws.
2) Most people in the state are indifferent to, ignorant about or fearful to confront the problem of abortion.

This slideshow is from January 22, 2009 the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The pro-choice crowd did not quite gather the four to seven thousand the pro-lifers did two days before.
If the media ever got around to reporting the truth about abortion instead of marketing it free of charge, and if the government's inordinate involvement in abortion, including the millions upon millions of dollars they shovel to the abortion industry each year, ever ceased abortion would be gone in a heartbeat.

Fr. Frank will be at the Planned Parenthood Abortion Mill in Olympia on Saturday, April 18th 2009 at 3 PM. He will then preach at the 5 PM Mass at St. Michael Church in Olympia. If you would like to join Fr. Frank for dinner and hear him talk after Mass, you will need to purchase a ticket from the Knights of Columbus.
On Sunday, April 19, Fr. Pavone will preach during the morning Masses at Holy Family Church in White Center, (West Seattle) followed by a 5:30 dinner at the KOC Hall in Seattle.

Washington State 40 Days for Life Vigils Get off to Great Start
I was at the Issaquah location for the first day of the 40 Days for Life Campaign. I made some new friends and started Lent off right. Please join in at one of the campaigns listed below.

Operation Rolling Thunder - more information - website
This is a prayer movement that is focused on bringing constant prayer (sound familiar?) to the churches around our state. Their kickoff is at Seattle Revival Center from Feb 7-10 and one of the intentions of this campaign is the pro-life movement. There's something going on with this and I don't believe in coincidences. I'll be speaking during their Saturday events. I am hoping we will all find a good deal of synergy between these two movements. Please consider participating in this prayer movement this lent as a means to grow both the pro-life as well as the spiritual community in the Seattle area.

Can't make it out to one of the six 40 Days locations with any regularity but you still want to be more involved? Good news! We're still going out to the clinic in the U-District (on 9th Ave at 45th St.) every Thursday from 6am-Noon and on Saturdays after the 8AM Mass at Blessed Sacrament.
