Not happy with Judge Leighton's decision that indeed the Washington Board of Pharmacy, Christine Gregoire and the abortion lobby were attempting to recind First Amemendment rights for pharmacists, the legislature considered passing their own thought crimes bills.
Three bills were were written up: SB 6361, SB 6519 and SB 6189.
All were flawed. In an attempt at compromise, even the one (SB 6361) written by Republican members had serious problems.

NARAL and the ACLU have appealed Judge Leighton's injunction in favor of the pharmacists to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Judge Leighton will hear the full case in October 2008.
