Abortionists Gone Wild: How the Obama Administration tried to Shut Down This Blog

It's time to write about the rest of the story when putative late-term abortionist Julie Komarow, M.D., sought a restraining order on your humble correspondent, one of the writers for this blog. This story includes a run-in with armed U.S. Marshals and a threat of federal charges including fines and jail time.

We have reported on the fact that Dr. Komarow went berserk simply because we tried to interview her for a story. As serious and diligent journalists, we never want to accuse anyone of anything without verifying it first, and that means making every reasonable effort to contact individuals one is writing about to give them a chance to comment, including deny, what you are saying about them. In our view, three separate attempts via separate communication channels (land-line, cell phone, email) meets that standard.

This is what we did with Dr. Komarow. Yet for psycho-spiritual reasons that remain opaque to us, Julie Komarow elected to view our attempts to reach her as life-threatening harassment! That might be explainable, for how many of us really understand the internal workings of a mind that has rationlized decades of cold blooded murder of little babies at one's own hand -- but the drama and mystery was compounded by her circle of enablers that -- instead of challenging her delusions -- reinforced and encouraged them.

Some of these were colleagues, including pro-life evangelical Christian doctors. Some of them were police officers. And some of them were United States Marshals and the Department of Justice, including the ever-embattled Attorney General, Eric Holder.

When Komarow filed her first restraining order on us, it indicated that she had asked the King County Sheriff's office to open an investigation into this writer, and put the Bonney Lake police on the lookout for me. Moreover, it indicated she had contacted the U.S. Marshal's service and asked them to protect her and investigate me. Instead of laughing in her face and telling her that the Department of Justice come to the beck-and-call of mass murders, these law enforcement agencies went into service for this career-long abortionist as if they were the Blackwater of Baby Terrorists. They harassed me and my family in the process because of our attempts to protect innocent children. This was once the proud activity of the police.

The Restraining Order application includes, in Komarow's own handwriting:
"Mid-August: Federal Marshal Heather Stone Walker starts informal case."
"9/23: Marshal Stone starts official case."
At the first court hearing, my attorney Alex Thomason quickly noticed that two of the women accompanying Komarow in the courtroom were conceal-carrying handguns. He immediately surmised that these were US Marshals. (Both were female, with short hair, and generally man-ish features.)

Indeed, later when the Judge asked Komarow to explain herself, after turning on the tears and claiming to be living in terror because a journalist wanted to interview her, one of the Marshals -- presumably Walker -- got up to speak to the judge on her behalf. This Marshal then declared that the Attorney General had instructed them to take this case "very seriously". She added that she had not just opened any investigation into me, but a federal F.A.C.E. Act investigation.

For those not familiar with the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrancies (F.A.C.E.) Act, this legal affrontery is one of Janet Reno and Bill Clinton's sad legacies. Ms. Reno became obsessed with destroying the lives of stay-at-home moms and grandmas who were trying to help save women and babies from the billion dollar abortion juggernaut. Not satisfied with the legal options available to her, she crafted and passed this bill which allows the federal government to punish pro-life activists with $10,000 fines and jail time if their actions can be shown to have physically blocked someone's access to an abortion mill.

So how, you are wondering, does Eric Holder convince some fine upstanding United States Marshals to pretend that two or three phone calls and a couple of emails soliciting an interview in order to avoid slander amounts to blockading an abortion clinic?

Every time you think you have plumbed the depths of the sick and twisted imaginings of the Obama Administration and its conspiracies of evil, you find out it is even sicker than you thought.

You also have to realize that Dr. Komarow didn't have to go pleading and begging and winding her way through the bureaucracy to make all this happen. The gun-toting authorities from the local cops up to the Department of Justice are apparently standing at the beckon-call of the baby-killing professionals.

It's worth pointing out that at no time did Heather Stone call me up and ask me any questions. At no time did she attempt to get my side of the story.

What did happen, however, was that we noticed that among the visitors to our blog after this point was "usdoj.gov". They would come back regularly for quite some time. One must assume that they were monitoring our writings, police-state-style, to see if they could come up with some way to show we had crossed some unknown line so they could give a knock on my door in the middle of the night. Can you say: Chilling Effect?

Welcome to the Democrat Nightmare. Brought to you by Low Information Voters across this land.

Washington Does it Again

Seattle company promotes sex selection IVF and embryo destruction. I suppose if there is a mistake they can line up an abortion for you. And what happens to all the "leftover" embryos?

The name of the company is Washington Center for Reproductive Medicine and the quack running the place is James Kustin.

Insanity of Washington State

As a follow-up to Jonathan's article on changing hearts and minds, I was reminded that England has stricter abortion laws than Washington state.
Abortion investigation: doctors filmed agreeing illegal abortions 'no questions asked'.

In England, sex-selection aboritons are illegal. Here in Washington you can abort viable baby girl triplets in the thrid-trimester and no one will bat an eyelash.  In England, Andrew Lansley, the Health Secretary, said: "I’m extremely concerned to hear about these allegations. Sex selection is illegal and is morally wrong. I’ve asked my officials to investigate this as a matter of urgency.

Do you think we could get the gutless wonders in the state legislature to pass a law against sex-selection abortion? Maybe Democrat pro-life hero Mark Miloscia would take it on.

Swedish Hospital Lied about Abortion, Allies with Butchers under Federal Investigation

While some of this news came out recently, we were holding off publishing anything while we gave the parties involved a chance to respond. We wanted to ensure we had the facts straight. But it appears clear now that Swedish Hospital has utterly disgraced itself and put itself under a moral cloud that will take a long time to undo.

In late 2011, Swedish Hospital announced a new partnership with Providence Medical Systems, a large regional Catholic hospital network. Under this arrangement, Providence required Swedish not to be directly involved in killing unborn babies. But Swedish, in a bizarre, contrived, and morally deviant move that could only come from the Seattle region, got suckered  into putting up money to help build a new Planned Parenthood abortion mill so that "abortion access would not be limited" by this move.

Before getting to the details of why Swedish would support a such a radical, controversial, and immoral organization that is under investigation for fraud in numerous states, and found to enable child rape, sexual slavery, forced abortion, and unlimited abortion on demand, it's worth noting another detail of the story that emerged.

Ten years ago, Providence sold their King County hospitals to Swedish, and there was a well publicized condition that Swedish not do abortions at any of these newly acquired facilities. Swedish apparently agreed, admitting that they were "only" doing about 50 abortions a year in hospital settings anyway, so it's not as though there was some sort of huge real issue here.

Everett Planned Parenthood Lists Unlicensed, Disciplined Doctor

Just as people are processing the news of an ambulance evacuating a female patient from the Everett Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, there is new controversy surrounding questions as to the identity of the Planned Parenthood doctor involved, and the organization's refusal to completely answer questions about whether or not they are using licensed staff.

A quick Google (Maps) search of the PP Everett abortion clinic address, 1509 32nd Street, Everett, WA, shows several staff associated with this clinic, but only one doctor: Dr. C. D. Steele.

Cedar River Abortion Chain Evicted from Main Office, Months Behind on Rent

Washington State's most notorious late-term abortion mill, Cedar River Clinics, was recently evicted by its landlord from their corporate head office suite on Interurban Avenue in Tukwila, south of Seattle.
26-week baby in utero. Or as Cedar
River Clinics calls him, a $10k target

According to court records we obtained, the abortion clinic chain, which advertises abortions up to a horrifying 26 weeks of pregnancy -- a crime in most western countries -- was over 5 months behind on rent payments. They had leased the office space since 2003.

"On or about August 7, 2010, a three-day notice to pay $16,633.21 or vacate was served upon defendant," reads the lawsuit. "As of this date, defendant has failed to cure said default or vacate the Premises."

The suit went on to demand double the amount of missed rental payments, and attorneys' fees. Cedar River did lawyer up, but never entered any kind of defense. The only other court records from them were a change of attorney, though they declined to answer when contacted whether this was done at the initiative of the attorneys (Ryan Law), or their own. It seems strange to switch counsel if you're not planning to mount a defense.

Lawyers for the landlord told us that the matter was resolved by Cedar River finally vacating the premises in September 2010, a month after the suit was filed.

After Cedar River vacated the property, the landlord, Fairway Center, dropped the suit.

What's not clear in all this is whether Cedar River could not afford to keep the lights on at this facility, or if they were simply stealing a few months of free rent before a planned departure.

They've had a bunch of well-deserved trouble lately. First they were forced to close their flagship abortion mill Yakima after 30 years of killing babies. Then, in the story we broke, they're defending against a medical malpractice lawsuit against their chief abortionist, Robert Kothenbeutel, who pulls in over $300,000 a year.

Kothenbeutel rendered a woman permanently infertile from a botched late-term abortion ("25+ weeks"), after she was taken by ambulance to a local emergency room, where she had to have a hysterectomy.

Nevertheless, according to the most recently available financial records, they had $1.2 million in net assets at the end of 2008, on revenue of $4.6 million, including about $700,000 in real estate holdings. That is their Yakima building, which they bought with the help of money from pro-lifers extorted by a court which abjectly abused the RICO statute, back in the Clinton Administration.

Their revenue has remained stable near $4.5 million for at least the last 5 years. As we have previously reported, making that much money off 6,000 abortion clients a year (which they have claimed publicly), is an average revenue of about $750. That is about triple what most of their competitors are able to generate, so it would be surprising if they suddenly hit on hard times.

We contacted Cedar River's acting attorney in the case for comment, but she deferred to Beverly Whipple, the founder and Executive Director. We caught up with Ms. Whipple today by phone, but she said and then repeated that she did not want to answer any questions about the eviction.

Is This Post Illegal?

This last Monday in a Kent courtroom, the Constitution prevailed over a shocking attempt to silence this blog by a prominent local doctor linked to the region's most controversial abortion clinics. This doctor is Chair of the Washington State delegation to the American Medical Association, and in that capacity represents all the doctors in the state.

She is also a colleague and associate of pro-life, Christian doctors, some of whom sit on the board of our local Care-Net pregnancy resource centers.

Her name -- this is the part that she wanted to make a crime -- is Dr. Julie Komarow.

As with many other doctors involved with the local abortion industry, we have written about Dr. Komarow before. We have pointed out that she recently worked at Cedar River Clinics, the most horrific, late-term abortion clinic in the state of Washington.

Cedar River is actually involved in an ongoing medical malpractice lawsuit involving a 26 week old baby, as we will reveal in an upcoming post. Cedar River was also involved in another recent lawsuit because of an abortion they did on an Alaskan minor who was transported from her home state without her parents' knowledge and brought to Cedar River for an abortion. We will soon be exposing the depth of the clinic and staff's involvement with that scandal also.

As if that was not enough, we've also posted the interim results of an ongoing investigation into Cedar River's very questionable financial reporting.

King County Public Health Hires Doctor who "Loves" Doing Abortions

You may recall that King County's Public Health Department was recently embroiled in controversy because it was revealed that they had helped a teenage Ballard High School student get an abortion without her parents' knowledge.

After that story broke across the country, TJ Cosgrove, spokesman for KC Public Health, stunned the nation by saying he was completely unapologetic about the incident. He added insult to injury by adding that the girl's mother should have known this could happen when she had signed a general waiver allowing emergency medical treatment and transportation.

We have since learned more about KC Public Health's radical pro-abortion agenda. It seems that each year for the last several years they have hired one of the region's most outspoken and enthusiastic late-term abortionist as their primary "Family Planning" contracted physician.

Dr. Deboray Oyer owns and operates Aurora Medical Services, which does abortions up to 19 weeks of pregnancy. Those are fully formed, thumb-sucking babies.

"It Gets Complicated": Late term abortionist shares tips on killing, avoiding resuscitation requirements

Abortionist Deb Oyer, probably the most visible, politically active, and well connected abortionist in the state of Washington, recently gave a presentation at the University of Washington to prospesctive abortionists and teenage girls from local high schools.

Terra Mork, a bright light in the state's pro-life movement, leads off with part one of Oyer's presentation.

Oyer is a late-term abortionist who appears to be enthusiastic about her work. In a matter of fact presentation staged peacefully without fanfare on the campus of the UW, Dr. Oyer details how she perfoms abortions and ensures that the child is killed in the womb in order to prevent having to "resuscitate" a born-alive child during a failed abortion.

North Seattle Late-Term 'Killing Field' Run by Dr. Charlie Browne

You might think that with Planned Parenthood having opened up almost a dozen abortion clinics in Western Washington in the last 10 years, the blood lust of the abortionist 'community' would have been sated.

But at the beginning of January, 2008, late-term Seattle abortionist Dr. Charlie M. Browne seems to have decided to stop sharing his abortion profits with clinic overlords and opened up his own shop in North Seattle, an area that has been free of a free-standing, high-volume abortion clinic for more than a decade.

Dr. Browne used to be the Medical Director for Cedar River Clinics, the largest local chain of late-term abortion clinics. Cedar River does abortions up to "viability", currently deemed to be 24 weeks, just like his new clinic. His work there was reportedly 40 hours a week (according to IRS records obtained by AIW) and earned him more then $200,000 a year, and dates at least back to 2005.

"There was a leg and foot in my forceps, and a 'thump, thump' in my abdomen."

There's almost nothing that can be said to prepare you adequately to read what's on this link. I would urge you to do it anyway. I will introduce it simply by explaining that it is a blog post on a blog called "The Abortioneers". This blog is, apparently, a place where abortionists come together and chat -- rather candidly -- about what it is that they do.

This post is called "Second Trimester Abortion Provision: Breaking the Silence and Changing the Discourse". It contains what at first seem like confessions from a late-term abortionist, with relatively graphic honesty about what happens in such abortions.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your America. Force yourself to read it. Force yourself to confront it.

(Hat tip to Jill Stanek for finding this.)

We Need a 'Pay Czar' to Cap Abortionist Salaries

With all this action these days from the White House to cap "excessive" salaries of CEOs, it's time to look at capping the salaries of abortion industry workers, like doctors, and executives.

It's time to get the money out of the abortion industry. There should never be a financial incentive to perform or sell an abortion. We have heard for years how the abortion industry is driven by profits and financial incentives. We can fix that.

Did you know that Planned Parenthood of Western Washington (PPWW) CEO Chris Charbonneau pulls down almost $260,000 a year. We've documented some of the outrageous salaries being made by abortion industry workers, especially the doctors that do the actual killing, here.

Looking at the most recent figures from Cedar River Clinics, the Western Washington abortion chain which are also the only non-hospital facilities that do horrific abortions right up to the 6th month of pregnancy, that are actually illegal in most Western European countries, we see that Dr. Charlie Browne made $217,175 in 2007.

That's a paltry sum compared to his colleague Dr. Robert Kothenbeutel, who took home almost $305,000. Amazingly, Cedar River also was employing two full-time anesthetists: Douglas L. Raber and Dennis O Johnston. Anesthesia is only used for surgical abortions, and then mostly for the grisly second trimester abortions Cedar River specializes in.

Raber managed to make $190,000, considerably higher than the average for his specialty.

One of the premises of the current obsession with scrutinizing how much money CEOs are making in this country is a recognition of how money can "incentivize" an unethical and aggressive approach to sales of things which should not be aggressively sold.

Everyone -- abortion providers conspicuously notwithstanding -- pays lip service to the idea that reducing the number of abortions is a Good Thing. From this it irresistibly follows that we should never allow there to be a financial incentive to sell abortion.

The way to do that is to cap the salaries abortion providers can make. There are numerous ways this can be done. We suggest that the Washington State Legislature pass a law that says that no doctor can make more than 10% of his income from the provision of abortion services.

The abortion industry can squawk all it wants claiming they're not in it for the money. But if you speak to those who have come out of that industry and blown the whistle, we find out the truth.

Carol Everett used to run a chain of abortion clinics in Texas. She has since gone very public about how the pursuit of profits drove them to sell as many abortions as possible.

A new movie, Blood Money, goes into great detail on this problem.

For the record, in 2007 we spoke with PPWW spokesman Brian Cutler and asked him if Planned Parenthood's doctors would be willing to back up his claim that they were not in this "for the money" by doing abortions "pro bono". Needless to say, he said they had declined.

While some in the medical profession will whine that "this is a legal medical service" and doctors "deserve to get paid for their services", the fact is that countless doctors donate their time and talents both here and abroad.

In many other Western European countries, and Canada, the notion that medicine should be "non-profit" has widespread acceptance. We are not arguing that we should adopt the same notion across all real medicine, just making the point that the government stepping in to a certain, specific area of the economy and eliminating financial incentives to sell something that should never be "sold" has plenty of precedent.

Yes, the time for abortion salary caps is now. The time for a Washington State Abortion Pay Czar is today. This cause should truly bring together Left and Right and unite us on some common ground.

DSHS Holds Regular Planning Meetings with Abortion Providers, Divulges Names of Citizen Watchdogs

Would you expect that if you file a request with the state government as to how much an organization is receiving in state funds that the government would disclose your name to the organization in question?

Well, if you're dealing with the Take Charge Family Planning program at the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), that's apparently what you should expect.

In 2008, we submitted a complaint to the Attorney General's office regarding the late-term abortion clinic chain known as Cedar River Clinics. In the response to that complaint, Cedar River director Beverly Whipple indicated that she knew this writer had requested information from DSHS about payments (tax dollars) to her organization.

There is no way Ms. Whipple should have known this.

We had filed a "Public Disclosure" request with DSHS to find out how much money DSHS had given to Cedar River in previous years in the form of Medicaid insurance payments.

(Cedar River Clinics does abortions up to 24 weeks, and even does secret abortions on teenage girls spirited out of other states without their parents' knowledge.)

While there may not be an absolute legal guarantee of privacy in such cases, most would expect that their name wouldn't be passed along to the organization under scrutiny. At least not without some sort of consequence.

We confronted a DSHS official about this. Her answers were woefully inadequate, and mostly incoherent.

One of her arguments was that it was good for organizations receiving government money to know that there are individuals keeping them accountable. She couldn't explain why that required the citizen's actual name from being disclosed.

She then suggested that the name might have been disclosed inadvertently at one of the "regular meetings" that this official, on behalf of DSHS, holds with the state's "family planning" agencies.

These meetings apparently include the Cedar River Clinic abortion chain, and the Planned Parenthood affiliates of Washington, including PP of Central Washington (which does what amount to coerced abortions), and PP of Spokane (which has been illegally overbilling Medicaid for years), and PP of Western Washington (which is doing 50% more abortions than it was just 3 years ago, while making millions of dollars in profits off emergency contraception).

We didn't know about these meetings, and this certainly didn't qualify as an excuse.

The bottom line was that this official seemed unperturbed by the privacy violation, and while she claimed she would "look into it", there have been no developments from "this investigation". And we don't expect any.

What we have learned is that the government (DSHS) admits to holding regular strategy meetings with the abortion industry to see how they can help each other, and these meetings include chit-chat, with private details, about members of the public who might be getting in their way. Ladies and gentlemen: welcome to the Land of Gregoire.

Virginia Mason Gynecologist Conceals Abortion Career From Patients

Do Dr. Nancy Tipton's clients know about her double life as an abortionist for the only chain of abortion clinics in Washington State that does abortions right up to the end of the 5th month of pregnancy?

Dr. Tipton's only public medical practice is with Virginia Mason, as a gynecologist. Her website gives current or prospective patients no insight whatsoever about her involvenment in the abortion industry.

But if you look at Cedar River Clinics' 990 tax form for 2002, you find that she pulled down $155,080, working 40 hours/week (aka, full time).

The next year, she cut back her hours at Cedar River to 4 days a week, and "only" made $103,925.

In 2004, she was still working 4 days a week, but pulled in just $67,895. Perhaps she moved out of second trimester abortions and was focussing more on the marginally less barbaric first trimester abortions.

Dr. Tipton doesn't appear on any 990s after that, but since those forms only require documentation of employees making more than $50,000/year, it's possible she was still working there. Indeed, if you run a google search of Cedar River's Yakima address, Dr. Tipton still shows up.

As with so many abortionists in the area, a little research shows that they've made the rounds at most of the abortion clinics on our I-5 corridor. Back in the early 90s, Dr. Tipton was the Medical Director for Planned Parenthood of Seattle-King County. Planned Parenthood is the largest chain of abortion clinics in the country. As medical director, she would have been deeply involved in abortion.

Ironically, in that 1992 Seattle Times piece, she is quoted praising the morning-after pill, claiming widespread availability would cut abortion rates in half.
"This is my favorite subject!" she announces. "This is one of the most underutilized treatments in reproductive medicine today. Post-coital pills can cut unplanned pregnancies in half." And that means fewer abortions.
Well, Planned Parenthood of Western Washington (PPWW) has been selling over 100,000 units of this drug every year since 2004, and has made millions of dollars in the process because of a special pricing arrangement with Barr Labs. What about the abortion rate? In 2007 they did 50% more abortions than in 2004!

In other words, Dr. Tipton's words have been completely discredited.

(Two years ago we asked PPWW's spokesman Brian Cutler about this, though not in the context of Dr. Tipton. His response was: "Does it really matter?")

Tax returns from the now defunct Aradia abortion clinic in downtown Seattle show Dr. Tipton as having been on their payroll for a time. Interestingly, her file at DrScore.com (plus numerous other similar websites) shows her as still working there, even though it went out of business a few years ago. Ironically, the phone number on that page is the Cedar River Clinics number.

We attempted on several occasions to speak with Dr. Tipton. The farthest we could get was her office manager, who claimed neither she nor anyone in the office had any knowledge of her involvement in abortion. She said that Dr. Tipton would call us back if she was interested in talking about her experience as an abortionist. We have not received any calls.

This story goes to underline the fact that regardless what activists and political hacks might say about the supposed moral case for abortion and its legalization, if you try to talk to those individuals who actually do the dismembering and executing of the babies, they want to run and hide as fast as they can. They know exactly what abortion is, and they don't want to talk about it.

Put another way, on career-day at their kids' school (if they have living kids), are people like Nancy Tipton going to be giving a presentation with a photo of an aborted baby, describing in detail to a packed auditorium what 'Mommy' does for a living?

Not on your life.

Update on Julie Komarow Story

A couple of posts ago we told you about Dr. Julie Komarow, the ex-abortionist who used to moonlight at Cedar River Clinics (aka Feminist Women's Health Center) without the knowledge of her employer, Covington Primary Care, and who has now reportedly stopped doing abortions and is just working as a ob/gyn at Sound Family Medicine. We called on Dr. Komarow to disclose her past as a killer of unborn children to her current patients.

We also left out a very important piece of information regarding Dr. Komarow. She was one of a handful of Washington State physicians who added their names to a letter from "doctors" to Congress in 2003 taking the extreme position that Congress should not ban the outrageous and despicable abortion procedure known as partial-birth abortion.

The abortion procedure involves delivering a live baby feet-first all the way until its head is still inside the mother's womb, then puncturing the base of the skull with something sharp (presumably surgical scissors, but presumably a pocket knife would suffice), and then sucking out the baby's brains with a vacuum. At this point the baby is dead, and its skull can be crushed, and the baby dumped into the garbage.

Dr. Komarow's letter predicted calamity should she and her colleagues not be allowed to do this anymore:

"The outcome of its passage would undoubtedly be countless deaths and irreversible damage to thousands of women and families. We can safely assert that without D&E and D&X ... we will be returning to the days when an unwanted pregnancy led women to death through illegal and unsafe procedures, self-inflected abortions, uncontrollable infections and suicide.

The cadre of physicians who provide abortions should be honored, not vilified. They are heroes..."

The bill has been law for a number of years now. To the best of our knowledge, Dr. Komarow's predictions have been proven completely wrong.

Seattle Abortionist Turns Up at Legit Practice, Tries to Bury Past from Patients

Pregnant patients of one of Sound Family Medicine's newest doctors may be horrified to find out that she was recently moonlighting at Western Washington's only chain of late term abortion clinics without her regular employer's knowledge.

Julie Komarow, MD, was until recently an abortionist at Cedar River Clinics. Her "day job" was working at Covington Primary Care. But she recently quit Covington and is working full time for Sound Family Medicine, a division of Good Samaritan.

We tried to contact Dr. Komarow for an interview, to find out why she left Cedar River, and to ask, for example, if she got tired of tearing 23 week old babies apart limb from limb, or drowning them alive with saline solution, which burns them alive from the inside out. Her assistant confirmed that she was no longer doing abortions and passed on our request for an interview.

Rather than getting a call from Dr. Komarow, or someone from Sound Family, we later received a call from an individual who identified himself as Peter, who said he worked for Cedar River Clinics, also known as the Feminist Women's Health Center.

He said he didn't know any details, but was just following the instructions he received "in an email" to call us up and decline the interview. He didn't indicate why, if Dr. Komarow wasn't working there anymore, he was returning my call.

Attempts to call back Peter's number have been unsuccessful, as the number has been recently delisted.

We then contacted Komarow's previous employer, Covington Primary Care, where she was working while she was also doing abortions at Cedar River. We spoke with Paul Larson, Senior Vice President (Clinic Services), Valley Medical Center. Mr. Larson was audibly angry to discover that Komarow had been moonlighting as an abortionist, and insisted that they had no knowledge of this, and would not have condoned it.

We then attempted to contact her current employer, Sound Family Medicine, which is a "doctor-owned" medical facility. She has an extensive bio on the SFM website, including details on the car she drives, and her pet llamas, but no mention at all of her past as an abortionist. We wanted to find out if Sound Family was aware of her past when they hired her, and if they thought patients who trusted her to deliver and care for their babies would be angered to find out that she had recently been dismembering and killing similar babies.

Emails to SFM management and colleagues went unanswered. The SFM website lists no administration number, so we called the business office hoping to get in touch with the appropriate individual. Initially they misunderstood the nature of our inquiry and told us that while SFM didn't do abortions -- which is good -- they referred clients to Planned Parenthood, despite that organization's well documented abuse of numerous laws and ethical regulations requiring informed consent and rape reporting, not to mention their extremist and radical hostility to any and all regulations of the abortion industry.

After clarifying the nature of our inquiry, we were met with an incredibly rude and hostile "supervisor" who told us that she refused to give out the telephone contact information for any doctors or administrators. "Look them up in the phonebook," she snapped.

We will keep our readers updated on any further developments in this story. We applaud Dr. Komarow for leaving abortion behind, but it's important to note that usually only a personal encounter with the God of All Comfort is sufficient to deal with the guilt that comes with an honest assessment of what you have done. Trying to run and hide isn't a lasting solution.

Lynnwood Park Named After Abortionist

If you're driving around Lynnwood near 196th Street and Highway 99, you'll come across an appealing stretch of greenery with the valuable sounding name of "Gold Park". Most passers by would think nothing of it. But some original research by AIW has revealed that this park is in fact named after one of the Seattle area's first abortionists.

The park is named after Dr. Morris Gold, and his wife Barbara, who used to own and operate an abortion clinic on that site throughout the 1970s. The clinic was not publicly advertised as an abortion mill. Instead, it was promoted as a pioneering childbirth clinic. It's not known how late-term the abortions they did were, but it is believed that second-trimester babies were executed in their clinic.

They even promoted their "abortion services" as far away as Calgary, Alberta, taking well-healed abortion tourists from Canada.

We're still researching details about the clinic, but it seems Dr. Gold "was ordered not to perform abortions under certain circumstances", and "freely prescribed diet pills to people who did not need them."

So why is a city park named after such an odious individual? We contacted Lynwood city council-member and mayoral candidate Lisa Utter about this issue. Ms. Utter was non-committal in terms of renaming the park, but after doing some research, she told us that the city of Lynnwood's Purchase and Sales agreement for the property had several conditions among them, including a requirement that "the name 'Gold' will be a part of the park's name for 99 years following the sale."

She also noted that while the city does have a policy regarding the naming of parks, "in my memory we have not changed the name of a park, and I don't believe we currently have a policy for that. Which means we would first have to go through developing a policy if one were proposed."

We consider it unconscionable that a city park should be named after an abortionist and will be pursuing this issue. Return back for updates on this topic.
