Abortionists Gone Wild: How the Obama Administration tried to Shut Down This Blog

It's time to write about the rest of the story when putative late-term abortionist Julie Komarow, M.D., sought a restraining order on your humble correspondent, one of the writers for this blog. This story includes a run-in with armed U.S. Marshals and a threat of federal charges including fines and jail time.

We have reported on the fact that Dr. Komarow went berserk simply because we tried to interview her for a story. As serious and diligent journalists, we never want to accuse anyone of anything without verifying it first, and that means making every reasonable effort to contact individuals one is writing about to give them a chance to comment, including deny, what you are saying about them. In our view, three separate attempts via separate communication channels (land-line, cell phone, email) meets that standard.

This is what we did with Dr. Komarow. Yet for psycho-spiritual reasons that remain opaque to us, Julie Komarow elected to view our attempts to reach her as life-threatening harassment! That might be explainable, for how many of us really understand the internal workings of a mind that has rationlized decades of cold blooded murder of little babies at one's own hand -- but the drama and mystery was compounded by her circle of enablers that -- instead of challenging her delusions -- reinforced and encouraged them.

Some of these were colleagues, including pro-life evangelical Christian doctors. Some of them were police officers. And some of them were United States Marshals and the Department of Justice, including the ever-embattled Attorney General, Eric Holder.

When Komarow filed her first restraining order on us, it indicated that she had asked the King County Sheriff's office to open an investigation into this writer, and put the Bonney Lake police on the lookout for me. Moreover, it indicated she had contacted the U.S. Marshal's service and asked them to protect her and investigate me. Instead of laughing in her face and telling her that the Department of Justice come to the beck-and-call of mass murders, these law enforcement agencies went into service for this career-long abortionist as if they were the Blackwater of Baby Terrorists. They harassed me and my family in the process because of our attempts to protect innocent children. This was once the proud activity of the police.

The Restraining Order application includes, in Komarow's own handwriting:
"Mid-August: Federal Marshal Heather Stone Walker starts informal case."
"9/23: Marshal Stone starts official case."
At the first court hearing, my attorney Alex Thomason quickly noticed that two of the women accompanying Komarow in the courtroom were conceal-carrying handguns. He immediately surmised that these were US Marshals. (Both were female, with short hair, and generally man-ish features.)

Indeed, later when the Judge asked Komarow to explain herself, after turning on the tears and claiming to be living in terror because a journalist wanted to interview her, one of the Marshals -- presumably Walker -- got up to speak to the judge on her behalf. This Marshal then declared that the Attorney General had instructed them to take this case "very seriously". She added that she had not just opened any investigation into me, but a federal F.A.C.E. Act investigation.

For those not familiar with the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrancies (F.A.C.E.) Act, this legal affrontery is one of Janet Reno and Bill Clinton's sad legacies. Ms. Reno became obsessed with destroying the lives of stay-at-home moms and grandmas who were trying to help save women and babies from the billion dollar abortion juggernaut. Not satisfied with the legal options available to her, she crafted and passed this bill which allows the federal government to punish pro-life activists with $10,000 fines and jail time if their actions can be shown to have physically blocked someone's access to an abortion mill.

So how, you are wondering, does Eric Holder convince some fine upstanding United States Marshals to pretend that two or three phone calls and a couple of emails soliciting an interview in order to avoid slander amounts to blockading an abortion clinic?

Every time you think you have plumbed the depths of the sick and twisted imaginings of the Obama Administration and its conspiracies of evil, you find out it is even sicker than you thought.

You also have to realize that Dr. Komarow didn't have to go pleading and begging and winding her way through the bureaucracy to make all this happen. The gun-toting authorities from the local cops up to the Department of Justice are apparently standing at the beckon-call of the baby-killing professionals.

It's worth pointing out that at no time did Heather Stone call me up and ask me any questions. At no time did she attempt to get my side of the story.

What did happen, however, was that we noticed that among the visitors to our blog after this point was "usdoj.gov". They would come back regularly for quite some time. One must assume that they were monitoring our writings, police-state-style, to see if they could come up with some way to show we had crossed some unknown line so they could give a knock on my door in the middle of the night. Can you say: Chilling Effect?

Welcome to the Democrat Nightmare. Brought to you by Low Information Voters across this land.

Must Read: Rep. Steve O'Ban's Floor Speech on HB 1044

Right not to be Coerced to Take Human Life

Mr. Speaker, this bill is not about one’s views on regulating abortion or a women’s right to choose. This bill is about the value we place on the freedom of conscience. This bill is a test of all of us in this chamber. Do we nurture and celebrate people who follow their conscience? Or, do we burden and undermine conscience? And not just any issue of conscience is at stake.

This bill would force Americans to violate conscience on the most profound moral issue imaginable. This bill would force Americans to assist in taking what they believe to be innocent human life. Since the Quakers in colonial America were jailed for refusing to serve in colonial militias, our nation has affirmed the right of conscience. Their refusal to take life changed colonial laws and in every armed conflict since, Americans have been exempted for conscience sake. Our laws have responded to protect conscience, again and again.
  • Within weeks of Roe v Wade in 1973, every state and the federal gov’t enacted exemptions so doctors would not be forced to take human life.
  • Our state’s physician-assisted suicide laws, exempt physicians from being coerced to take human life.
  •  Our state corrections employees are excused from participating in state executions.
And yet, not since the Quakers were jailed in colonial America, would a law punish Americans who refuse to take human life, until HB 1044. No other state, no other gov’t has broken with the long tradition of our nation protecting conscience in this way, until HB 1044.

Seattle Clinic Defense Snoozes through August Protest

The pro-abortion, anti-woman group Seattle Clinic Defense slept through their August protest today after the Helpers of God's Precious Infants got an early 7:00 am start.

Here's a report from the Helpers:
"Our vigil went really well. Peaceful and Prayerful. About 10 minutes
before we finished the protestors showed up and as they began to line up with all their signs etc. we began walking back. I think we really took
them by surprise but I am sure they will look at it as victory for them.
There was about 17 of us and 12 of our regulars weren't there so we were really pleased with the Helpers turn out. I can imagine what they will say on their web site but we loved having a very peaceful and prayerful vigil. Besides that is what we are all about. Fox TV showed up ready to film us as we were getting in our cars and was very surprised that we had just finished so he went down in front of PP and filmed them. That's what they want anyway. I am sure that they called them."

It's too bad the SCD couldn't find a better way to use their time and energy, rather than helping the abortion industry to prey on women and children. Hopefully some if them will wake up before they hurt too many people.

Beautiful Little Lamb Saved from Cedar River Abortion Mill

Of course, we love to get emails like the one reprinted below. It's a story we received this week about a beautiful child spared from the horror of abortion last year. Some people wanted her dismembered and set out as medical waste. Others braved the cold, the wind and rain, and public humiliation to see her live.
----------------

Dear Pro-life friends,

Some of us who were praying at the Cedar River Abortion Center at Renton on Friday, April 1st, had a wonderful, joyful experience of having a lady drive by and hand over a picture of a beautiful baby girl. She said that some months back when she had driven in to the center for an abortion, someone praying outside handed her a picture (not sure what exactly it was) of a baby's feet. That touched her and made her choose life for her unborn child and the picture she gave us was the picture of her little daughter, Teana, who now is her joy.

Pro-Abortion Terrorist Who Threatened AIW Nabbed by FBI

Our friend Michelle McIntyre at Life of the Party alerted us to a post at Jill Stanek late on Friday.

The post was about the arrest of pro-abortion activist Theodore Shulman, who has been threatening pro-lifers across the country for several years now.

Mr. Shulman made 3 comments on posts here at AIW as "OperationCounterstrike"; here he posted twice and here once.

Here's a sample:
Right to lifers owe blood for eight terrorist murders.
Someone should kill eight right-to-lifers.
It won't be murder; it'll be justifiable homicide.
Jill Stanek has forwarded the information to the FBI.

Of course, violence and threatened violence is not new behavior for pro-abortion activists, or "pro-choicers" as they like to be called. They kill unborn babies, born babies, pregnant women, abortionists, pro-lifers, or anyone who gets in their way. They steal, kidnap, commit arson, drug crimes, sex crimes, and vandalism.

Doubt what we're saying? There's an out-of-date but informative list of "pro-choice" violence by state and province here which makes a very educational read for people who get their news from places like The Seattle Times, NPR, or CNN.  Washington's list is here.

We are glad the FBI has detained this man before he hurt anyone. But this story is horribly ironic in light of the situation we told you about where we were bullied and harassed by abortionist Julie Komarow simply for trying to interview her for a story we were doing on her stemming from her affiliation with the infamous Cedar River Clinics late-term abortion chain which we've been telling you about lately.

In that case she was able to get help from Eric Holder's Justice Department. Attorney General Holder provided two United States Marshals to "investigate" us and to bully the judge at the first hearing where Ms. Komarow sought a restraining order on our First Amendment rights.

Mr. Holder, consider this an educational moment in terms of where the actual threats of violence are coming from. It's from your side.

Some Evergreen Republican Pols Start to Speak Out Against Democrats' Abortion Radicalism

While grassroots Washingtonians have been attacking the bill to destroy pregnancy centers, we haven't heard too much from political leaders. A few Republicans are now adding their voice and providing political leadership.

One of those is freshman Republican Paul Harris (Vancouver), who sits on the House Health Committee where the bill is now.

Rep. Harris doesn't mince words. “HB 1366 is a bad bill," he told us.

He emphasized the absurdity of going after sacrificial non-profits at a time of massive budget cuts to social services.

"These private pregnancy centers provide $19 million of services to over 60,000 women across the State of Washington," he explained.

"These are often lower-income women who would otherwise be relying on welfare. Like the Governor said, we’ve got to stop kidding ourselves and thinking that government can or should do everything for everyone."

"Pregnancy Resource Centers are exactly the facilities we should be thanking, not punishing.”

Washington Democrats Vow to Crush Minority Rights in Name of Abortion, Despite Clear Court Ruling

The ruling last week in the Baltimore Crisis Pregnancy Center case was the shot heard round the pregnancy center world. Yet lawless, ideological extremists in the Washington State Senate seem hell bent on serving their abortion industry masters and are going ahead with plans to trample the most basic rights of pro-lifers.

On January 28, a federal judge in Maryland struck down a law which the Baltimore City Council passed -- at the behest of the abortion lobby -- that is almost a carbon copy of massively controversial legislation being pushed in the State Legislature right now by the Democrat majority (HB1366/SB5274). Like the Washington bill, the Baltimore bill specifically targeted counseling offices and health care providers that try to help women experiencing unplanned pregnancies not kill their unborn babies.

Hundreds of Washingtonian Pro-Lifers Storm Olympia (Again) to Demand Democracy

Hundreds of pro-lifers are converging at this very minute on Olympia. They're attending the Senate's first hearing on SB5274, the "More Dead Babies Act", to testify and to make their opposition clear.

We are there too.

One thing we'll be doing is looking for answers to various questions, such as:
  • Will pregnancy center supporters outnumber the abortion industry 10:1 like they did at the House Health Committee hearing on their equivalent bill last week?
  • Will the rules as to who will get to testify and how long be kept secret up to the last minute like House Health Committee Chair Elieen "Waist Up" Cody did last week? (Ms. Cody is rated "strongly" pro-abortion by NARAL.)
  • Will Democrats have a secret backdoor entrance for their friends in the abortion lobby, and a special room reserved for their abortion bosses, like radical homosexual Rep Marko Liias (who represents suburban Lynnwood) did last week? Hundreds of pro-lifers waited hours, standing in hallways, only to see the abortion contingent turn up at the last minute, and be escorted by Rep. Liias to their own room. Rep. Liias has not responded to our requests for comment.
  • Will the seating in the hearing room be rigged by the Democrats to artificially 'balance' supporters and opponents 50:50 even if the bill's opponents actually massively outnumber abortion insiders, completely ignoring who arrived first, like Rep. Cody and Liias did last week?
  • Will the text of the bill be suddenly switched at the last minute from what the public has been able to see and respond to, to new language the public has not had access to, just prior to voting, as has been rumored?
  • Will the abortion lobby continue to spew the slander and lies about what this bill would actually do which we have completely discredited on this blog in recent days?
  • Will bill backers be humiliated again by withering testimony about the completely unprecedented and vicious penalties outlined in the bill for such offenses as having a sign in the wrong font size, or not having literature translated into Swahili?
  • Will the Senate Democrats, like Ed Murray and Craig Pridemore, admit they were wrong to put their names on this terrible bill, whose equivalent in Baltimore was just struck down as patently unconstitutional?
  • Will Senate Health Committee Chair Karen Keiser be the Hosni Mubarack of Washington politics, as half a million supporters of pro-life pregnancy centers who have quietly stood on the sidelines rise up in outrage at what the legislative branch of Planned Parenthood (also known as the Washington Democratic Party) is doing?
One thing is for sure. You'll find the answers right here.

Abortion Toady Rep Clibborn Humiliated by Testimony at 'More Dead Babies' Act Hearing

It's a wonder Washington State Rep. Clibborn didn't crawl under her desk and cry like a baby. Clibborn is the prime sponsor of HB1366, the bill given to her by the abortion industry to destroy the pro-life pregnancy centers that cut their business by 6% last year. On Monday afternoon, the House Health Committee held a hearing on the bill. Supporters of the state's pregnancy centers turned out by the hundreds, packing the room, and filling the hallways.

The bill imposes some ridiculous requirements on pregnancy clinics that don't kill unborn babies, and then sets up a legal open season on them by creating unprecedented grounds for them to be sued, by almost anyone, with crippling damages.

We present a transcript of one particularly noteworthy testimony that exposed Clibborn's diabolical agenda and laid it bare for all the world to see.

I'm John Panesko. I'm just an attorney from the community. I'm a former prosecutor. I'm not affiliated with either side, but I was asked to read a copy of this bill, and it made an impression on me, and that's why I'm here.

I'm glad as a lawyer I don't have to post on my door all the things I don't provide, but if somebody asked me if they wanted a divorce, I'll tell them, 'No, I don't do divorces; go somewhere else'

What's the harm? But back to this bill...

I read it and I believe the enforcement part of this bill will put pregnancy centers out of business and I'll tell you five reasons why..

Pro-lifers Rock Olympia for 2011 March for Life; Pro-Aborts not so much

I attended the March for Life in Olympia yesterday. Here's a great picture that was sent to me. It was taken with a wide angle lens. "With a wide angle lens this photographer went to the Hall of Justice steps, to the top of the steps, and couldn't get the whole crowd in one photo."

Here's coverage from the Olympian, which ain't half bad considering they seem to love the abortion industry most days. However, they only estimated the crowd at 4,500. According to my sources the campus police said if the steps of the legislature building were covered with people, that would be 5,000. It was at least 7,000 by my estimation.

The new archbishop, Peter Sartain, of the Archdiocese of Seattle was on hand. Here he is with Karen Rotter from the pro-life committee at St. Michael Parish and Leigh a representative of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign.

And, well, the pro-aborts just couldn't muster much enthusiasm for their cause.

New Pro-life Organization in Washington Issues "Reality Check" on Dino Rossi and Pro-lifers

Washington Life Coalition, a new pro-life organization in Washington state, has produced their first video titled "Little Emily" to take on politicians who indentify a "pro-life" but then claim that abortion in cases of rape, incest and life of the mother is ok.

Their first subject is much beloved politician Dino Rossi (R) who is running for Patty Murray's senate seat.

Watch the video here:

And web site here: http://www.washingtonlifecoalition.com/

For too long politicians have been able to garner support from pro-lifers even though they support abortion in the case of so-called "hard cases" -- rape, incest, and life of the mother.

This is a welcome reality check on the "pro-life" politicians and the pro-lifers who support them.

Clint Didier: Clear Choice for Pro-life Voters

Michelle McIntyre at Life of the Party has endorsed Clint Didier for US Senate in Washington.

Clint has already been endorsed by Sarah Palin.

I agree with Michelle that pro-lifers would come to be very dissapointed in Dino if he were elected Senator. No doubt many pro-lifers will continue to support Dino in spite of Michelle's spot-on analysis and critique of Dino's statements on abortion, but the fact is that Clint Didier is the 100% pro-life candidate. Dino is not.  Clint would actually help to move the ball down the field on pro-life concerns. Dino appears apathetic.

That's going to be hard for Dino's fan club to hear but it needs to be said. Hats off to Michelle for having the guts to say it knowing that she'll probably be vilified by the GOP establishment and some pro-lifers.

Spring 40 Days for Life Campaign Ends with Baby Shower for Baby Saved from Abortion

Last fall Planned Parenthood's Everett abortion center had schedule a beautiful baby girl to die by abortion, for a fee of course.

However, fate intervened and saved the mom from a lifetime of despair and baby from death.

See the April 11th, 2010 Everett 40 Days for Life Victory Rally and baby shower pictures here.

"It Gets Complicated": Late term abortionist shares tips on killing, avoiding resuscitation requirements

Abortionist Deb Oyer, probably the most visible, politically active, and well connected abortionist in the state of Washington, recently gave a presentation at the University of Washington to prospesctive abortionists and teenage girls from local high schools.

Terra Mork, a bright light in the state's pro-life movement, leads off with part one of Oyer's presentation.

Oyer is a late-term abortionist who appears to be enthusiastic about her work. In a matter of fact presentation staged peacefully without fanfare on the campus of the UW, Dr. Oyer details how she perfoms abortions and ensures that the child is killed in the womb in order to prevent having to "resuscitate" a born-alive child during a failed abortion.
